Dear Friends,

We hope that you are all safe and well during this most difficult pandemic time. I have not posted in awhile, but have continued to do live stream performances, and wanted to share the latest concert with you.

My daughter Andrea, mezzo-soprano, and I have been performing together for quite awhile. This past Sunday, we live-streamed a recital SONGS OUR MOTHERS TAUGHT US, rather than being able to perform live in the scheduled venue at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Greenwich, CT, hosted by the Friends of Music.

The program is built around the themes of home, belonging, and music being passed down from our families. It features Andrea singing the American spiritual “Over My Head, There’s Music in the Air,” Schumann’s song cycle “Frauenliebe und leben,” my three-piece work for piano “Three Scenes from Poland,” an aria from Wuthering Heights, and Dvorak’s “Gypsy Songs” (plus an encore from The Secret Garden).

Andrea has been singing since she was very little, and it is an absolute joy to work with her and to see her talent touch the lives of others. During this pandemic, she is with us here in North Carolina temporarily, as all her singing work, like for so many others, has disappeared in NYC. So, we are making a lot of music together from our home - an unanticipated silver-lining.

We hope that you are finding silver linings too, and that you enjoy this music.

All the best,

Pam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afVlijuAjKc&t=1s
